Obituary of Jose A. Vargas, Jr.
Please share a memory of Jose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
José Antonio Vargas, Jr was born in Miami, FL on July 22, 1963. He was preceded in death by his mother Carmen Nieves and his father José Vargas. He is survived by his wife, Maribel Vargas; four children, Arlin Winford (Joseph), Brandy Guzman (Janier), Prissila Vargas, and Cindy Lopez (Jordan); two sisters, Nancy Burgos and Mildred Alvarez Garcia (John); one brother, Ricky Montalvo (Diane); four grandchildren, Benjamin, Prissila (Pitu), Sebastian, and Chase; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
José was the third of four children who all claim he got away with everything, which he didn’t deny. At a young age, José loved being with his siblings. That love for his family showed throughout his entire life. When he was 19 years old, he met the love of his life, Maribel. They got married on January 3, 1983. They lived in Miami, FL and raised 4 beautiful girls (Arlin, Brandy, Prissila, and Cindy). José was a pressman for 4 decades, and he always made sure the equipment was running at its best. He had a good work ethic and was willing to learn and do anything. As a result, he was a jack of all trades and would always lend a helping hand to others. Although he would do a full day’s work, José would come home and do work around the house to make sure it looked its best. He had a green thumb and could often be seen watering his lawn or taking care of the landscaping. You very seldom saw anyone do work on his house as he usually wanted to do the work himself. Although José loved & adored his girls, he especially loved his grandchildren. Spending time with them was the highlight of his day.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to everyone for their loving support and kind words of sympathy during this difficult time. In spite of the loss of our dear loved one, we are still able to find comfort in God’s promises that we will see José again in the resurrection in paradise earth where no one will say “I am sick” and “death will be no more.” (John 5:28, 29; Isaiah 33:24; Revelation 21:3, 4)
