Obituary of Charles Patrick Maloney

Charles Patrick Maloney was the fifth of ten children born to Joseph Jerome and Ellen Maloney on November 4, 1953, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Canada. He passed away at home on May 6, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Denise, many aunts, and uncles and more recently by his aunt Clare Murphy, his uncle Wilfred P Maloney and his brother-in-law, Lawrence Webber.
In 1996, he married Sharon Cohen, who survives him. They lived in Hollywood, FL. He is also survived by eight siblings: Marie Webber of Canada, Teresa Wilcutt (Kenneth Wilcutt) of Texas, Barbara Power (Owen Power) of Canada, Patricia Jones (Randall Jones) of Texas, Rose Gohlke (Mark Gohlke) of Texas, John Maloney (Eva Maloney) of Pembroke Pines, FL, William Maloney (Beth Ann Maloney) of Texas and Robert Maloney of Texas. He is also survived by his nineteen nephews and nieces and twenty-one great nephews and nieces.
He moved to Texas in 1970 when his father relocated the family there. Charles earned an associate degree in business administration and went to work in the Accounting Department of Southern Gas company in Dallas. After three years, he went to work for the Post Office in 1977 in Dallas. He transferred to South Florida in 1989 and worked at the post office in Miami and then Pembroke Pines until his retirement in 2012.
Charles had many hobbies, including photography and traveling. He was also the family “handyman” and he volunteered to work on any plumbing, electrical, and any other project that someone needed help with. He had a huge heart and was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the Joseph A. Scarano Presidential Circle Memorial Chapel Monday, May 15, 2023, from 10:00am – 12:00pm with a chapel service at 10:30am.
