Obituary of Roberto E. Munoz

Roberto Emilio Muñoz Cancel, of Pembroke Pines Florida, sadly left us on July 18, 2023. Born on February 12, 1944, in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Ventura Munoz and Ana Cancel. He is survived by his children Roberto, Carmen and Marcelo and his grandchildren Emilio and Wayne whom they affectionately called “Pop”. Roberto is also survived by his brothers, Ernesto, Jaime and Walter and sisters Carmin and Evelyn, and a host of loving family and friends. Roberto was a beloved brother, father, grandfather and friend. By trade he was a mail carrier with the United States Postal Service for more than 30 years and proudly served in the United States Army. Roberto was an avid baseball player and fan, especially of his favorite team the New York Yankees. For decades Roberto coached little league baseball in Hialeah, Florida where some of his players, including his son Roberto, went on to become professional baseball players. No viewing or ceremony will be held, but as a special remembrance, a donation can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, a charity Roberto generously supported throughout his life.
