Obituary of Teresa Morales Gentile
Please share a memory of Teresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Teresa Morales-Gentile, 90 of Boynton Beach Florida passed away on July 21, 2023 at the Boynton Beach Assisted Living home. Teresa was known as a gentle, kind, loving person with great faith. She had an elegance about her and journeyed through life wearing her heart on her sleeve. She danced and sang like no one was watching, she loved babies, and brought smiles to those around her. Teresa lived her life as a feather in the wind, not over worrying, but just trusting in the Lord. She loved to tell stories and tell jokes for laughs, but would always tell stories of good memories that she kept close to her heart. Ever since her husband, Peter, passed away, her children, who lived close by, would watch over her to ensure she was comfortable and well taken care of by her caregivers.
Teresa’s journey of life began October 15, 1932. She was born in Granada, a lovely colonial town in Nicaragua, to Cesar and Elia Morales. She was the second to youngest of six siblings (Blanca, Cesar, Rene, Esperanza, Teresa and Adolfo).
In her early twenties, Teresa left Nicaragua and arrived in Astoria Queens, with several cousins to expand her horizons. She learned the English language and mastered the craft of sewing which led her to assemble beautiful garments that were the fashion of those days. Living next door to her in Astoria, Queens, was a handsome popular Italian-American man who she fell in love with and married. Teresa and Peter (rest his soul) were married for 63 years.
Although Teresa had many gifts, her priority was being a homemaker. She had the gentle golden touch that made old things look new again. Her biggest gift to others was her faith in the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Lord. In her later years, Teresa served All Saints Church in Sunrise, FL and was one of the founding members of “The Legion of Mary” at St. David’s Church in Davie, FL where she made rosaries and always tried to help those in need. She served her church as a Eucharistic Minister for many years and would visit Assisted Living facilities and Nursing Homes giving communion to those who could not attend mass.
Teresa (rest her soul) is now survived by her three (3) children Rochelle, Mark, and Glen, son-in-law Rich, daughter-in-law Shannon, grandsons Christopher, Noah, and great-granddaughter Taylor. She was also blessed with a wonderful and loving extended family who will miss her very much, and will cherish all the lovely memories she left us with throughout her lifetime.
In Repose Monday July 24, 2023 from 9:20 A.M. - 10:20 A.M. at the Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 A.M. at St. David Catholic Church, cremation to follow.
