Obituary of Viola Rodriguez

Viola Rodriguez, age 88, of Lake Worth, Florida passed away on August 28, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. In March of 1935, she was born Viola Lucy Romero in New York City to parents Leocadio Romero and Nemesia Roman. Following the untimely death of her mother in 1940, Viola was raised in a convent, attended Saint Dominic School, and in 1953 graduated with high honors in secretarial studies from the High School of Commerce in New York City. Throughout her career, Viola worked as an Executive Secretary at Saxon Copystatics in Miami Lakes, as an Administrative Secretary at Pembroke Pines General Hospital, and in the Medical Staff Office of Hollywood Memorial Hospital. An avid reader and devotee of jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, computer solitaire, and British mysteries, Viola Rodriguez is survived by her sons, Dr. Gary Torres and Ronald Torres, as well as her grandchildren Collin Torres, Connor Torres, William Torres, Zachary Torres, and Kristen Torres, her daughter in law Gisela Nanson Torres, and future daughter in law April Gomez. She is predeceased by her husband Jesus Rodriguez, her daughter April Torres, and her brother Robert Romero. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the hospice staff at VITAS Healthcare.
