Obituary of Steven Allen Brilliant

Steven Allen "Steve" Brilliant, 74, of Bronx, New York, passed away at his home in Pembroke Pines, Florida on September 10, 2023. The viewing will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 9000 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Homes will be handling the funeral arrangements. Steve was born October 27, 1948 in the Bronx to Rose Rutch and Roger Brilliant. When he moved to Queens, he attended Forest Hills High School and later served in the military during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1974. Following his apprenticeship, he became a certified electrician with Local 3 where he retired after many years of service. His interests as a child included collecting stamps, and as an adult he enjoyed metal detecting, western movies, and television (especially wrestling!). Music was a passion most weren't aware of. Aside from his interest in learning guitar, he was known as the king of music trivia. From his brave appearance, it may have been difficult to discern his compassionate and sensitive nature, but it came to light as the brother of three sisters. His sense of humor, quick wit, and love for his family will be remembered forever. Steve is survived by his son (Scott), daughter (Lindsay), two sisters (Diane and Wendy), daughter-in-law (Kimberly), four grandchildren, and two nieces. He is preceded in death by his sister (Beverly), his wife (Lucy), the mother of his children (Carol), and his brother-in-law (Jeff). Please keep the Brilliant family in your thoughts and prayers.
