Obituary of Siegfried L. Buttner
Please share a memory of Siegfried to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Siegfried Ludwig Buttner lived his life to the fullest. After a difficult childhood in wartime Germany, with his brother Walter and his parents Anna and Wilhelm, he managed to cross the Atlantic in his 20s, first to Canada and then to NY, where he met my mother and fell in love at first sight. After a sweet wedding in Colombia they settled in New York, and had two loving girls who always had the best of everything, lots of love and attention and happy family moments.
The family relocated to Colombia where they created more extended family memories, and enjoyed a wonderful country, where "Don Sigi" became an entrepreneur and opened several restaurants.
After our return to the US he lived a quiet family life, always took care of his girls, provided everything we needed and showed his love through dedication.
He was also fortunate when he left us with no pain, gently, surrounded by love, to meet his beloved wife Elisa, taken from us two years ago, and our little sister Heidi, gone for so long that it's joyful to think they are finally reunited. Peace and serenity is what they all deserve, and I thank God to take them all into his loving arms, so they can watch over us left behind.
Survived by his daughter Karin, her doggie Emil, his nephew Michael and fiancée Christine, his children Jessica, Julianna and Derek, and his niece Monika, her husband Terry and children Niko, Kyle, Ryan and Eric.
Resquiecat in pace dear Dad!
