Obituary of Roland Patrick Gagnon

Please share a memory of Roland to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Friend. Roland “Rollie” Patrick Gagnon was born on August 5, 1951 in Biddeford, Maine, to George and Marie Gagnon. He graduated from Thornton Academy in 1969, and went on to play basketball at Assumption College before transferring to and graduating from the University of Maine in 1973. Roland made the big move to Miami, Florida post graduation where he met the love of his life, Tania, working at First State Bank just a few years later. They married in 1978 and adopted their only baby girl, Sarah, in 1995. He was a dedicated, loving, and caring husband and father who would do anything for his girls. Roland was incredibly smart and a hard worker, allowing him to work his way up in the Finance World - becoming the youngest VP at Bank of America at one time, amongst other accomplishments, before retiring from Regions Bank. He was quick with numbers and wise, and provided so well for his family. Not only that, but he was a cheerful giver with a generous heart, always looking to help and serve others in his community or donate to causes that grabbed a hold of his heart. He was a provider through and through. If you were with Roland, then you were probably laughing. He was always cracking a joke or saying something sarcastically- a natural at making others laugh. He would consider himself an introvert and loved spending his afternoons on the couch watching TV, and even there the laughter was always present. Towards the last few years of his life, his relationship with the Lord rekindled and he once again became an active member at his local Parrish, St. Maximillian Kolbe. He was obedient to the Lord and answered the call to serve as a Eucharistic Minister. He treasured the time he got to serve, and loved getting to spend time with the Lord and his fellow brothers and sisters. The Lord called Roland home on August 19, 2024 at age 73 in his hometown of Pembroke Pines, FL. Although we grieve his loss, we thank the Lord for the years of getting to love and be loved by Him. He will be dearly missed, and his love and memory will live on forever. Roland is survived by his wife Tania, his daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Cole Gaylord, his two brothers Richard and Robert Gagnon, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
