Joseph Michael Altobelli (affectionately known as Papa), 96 years old, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away peacefully on August 25th 2024.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church in Southwest Ranches, Friday, August 30th 2024 at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Doral at 12:30pm.

Joseph was born on October 3rd 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Guiseppe Altobelli and Flavia Spataro. He joined the Army in 1946 and was honorably discharged in 1948. Joseph married Blanca Rojas on October 8th, 1966 in New York. They had two daughters, Arlene and Annette.

Joseph was an artist through and through, with a deep love for art that permeated every aspect of his life. His passion for creating was matched only by his appreciation for the beauty in the world around him. He was a true baseball fan, watching the Yankees whenever they were on TV. He also had a sweet tooth, and his fondness for sweets was a delightful trait that endeared him to those around him.

Remaining to cherish Papa’s memory are his wife, Blanca, his daughters, Arlene and Annette, granddaughter Samantha, granddogs Yogi, Rocky and Miley, brother Dr. John Altobelli, nieces and nephews, and the Rojas, Espada, Betancourt, and Toyos/Santana families.
