I practically grew up with Bobby. Almost every few years,beginning when I was a toddler when we first visited Manila in 1984. Through the years, after they moved to the US, I would be seeing Bobby every so often especially when Oma was still alive.He was always the fun, accomodating, humble, kind and helpful uncle to me and my brother Kevin. He was always interested in what I was doing and was always trying to learn something new. He tried hard to communicate with us in Dutch! He was so happy when Arthur and Claire were born and was planning to visit us… sadly, it didn’t materialize. I’m just glad that Bobby was able to do the things he wanted most : play music! We will miss Bobby ! A kind, humble, gentle soul. Rest in peace.

Bobby as we all knew him was a kind,humble,gentle soul. He was a man of faith, of hope, of charity. He was always happy and smiling, no matter if he were feeling ill or had some problems. He was never one to bear grudges or bore ill feelings toward anyone who may have slighted him or disrespected him. He was a gentle soul who loved life and lived life.
Bobby knew, loved and served God. He used his God-given musical talent to serve God and His church. His weekends were full---he would wake up early to be in the church by 8 AM and would stay all day until the afternoon mass. He also devoted his Saturday afternoons serving in the anticipated mass.
Bobby found a second family with the Knights of Columbus and Emmaus groups of the Mother of Our Redeemer Church. He was never happier than when he was attending or serving in all the activities of these groups. He was also active in joining all the festivities of the different Filipino religious groups.
We will all miss Bobby.
Rest in peace and continue playing beautiful music in heaven.

The good old times… our many visits to Miami when Nanay was still alive ! We will always remember Bobby as a fun and most welcoming host. He would put up props like those oversized stuff tiger and lion… Indian head gear… and it was a must for us to have a group picture in their backyard before our flights. We will miss Bobby… rest in peace!

Whenever we visited the family in Miami you were always there to drive us around everywhere.
At home you tried to bring life to everybody by playing music, on many different instruments.
Or you wanted to be on the joint family pictures with the a large toy tiger or lion.
We talked about different subjects, with Jaap often about music, sometimes about religion.
Those were always pleasant discussions, you had no interest in forcing your opinion on others, you were mainly interested in understanding music or life.
We appreciate everything you did for us and we feel sad that we will not see you again, but you will always be in our memory.

Growing up together, I had so many memories of my brother. He likes to prank me a lot together with my sisters, just to make me cry. My brother and I looked alike, they said I was the female version of Bobby, maybe that explains why i was the favorite one, he used to have so many pet names for me, he actually created them forme
So many memories to cherish, You maybe gone for now, but you memory lives on in our hearts

Bobby is a humble and great friend. His strong faith in God is inspiring to so many. His love for music is motivating. He helped me create the Mu Epsilon Delta Fraternity Hymn in 1974 to 75 and still used by the UST College of Medicine MED Frat. This is just one of his great legacies.

Bobby was our one-man-band… every gathering that we had… he would always provide the musical entertainment! He was an amazing gifted musician who can play almost all kinds of musical instruments without reading notes. I guess that’s real talent. now he said he is a liturgical musician. He can play classical music , jazz, rock, Pinoy OPM. Of course he has dedicated his talent to offer his musical talent to God and the church. Bobby, we are already preparing ourselves for these holidays and birthdays without your one-man-band. You probably would join the choir up there!

Bobby was the eldest and my only brother among us siblings. He was also the eldest among the Ballesteros cousins making him my paternal grandfather's favorite. He was a talented musician and could play any musical instrument. I am going to miss everything about him and one is his "kakulitan".
To Mitzi and Bruce - the Ballesteros family are with you especially in this difficult time.
Manong, God has you in His keeping but we have you in our hearts. Forever Rest in Peace!
