Robert Ward Casterton was born on August 26, 1942 and passed away peacefully in his home on December 1, 2024 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Casterton Sr.; his mother Barbara McIlvain Casterton; his brother John "Bill" Casterton;and his sister Judith Casterton. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marilynne Casterton; his children Jeff Casterton, Cheryl Casterton Hoyle, Linda Brown, Richard Brown, Bradley Brown, Shelli Odom, Joseph Brown, and Jaylynne Casterton Smith; his sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Casterton Crow; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a hardworking man who earned the title of vice president at Idico, but his greatest accomplishment was his devotion to his family. He will be fondly remembered for his selflessness, patience, wit, tender heart, and infectious laughter. He had a zest for life and found joy in the little things like Pittsburgh Steelers and University of Miami games, bike rides, cruising in his corvette and on his Harley, coaching at the Optimist Club, serving in his church, snuggling up in his recliner and watching a movie, playing video games with his grandchildren, Saturday morning breakfast with his best buds, bringing his wife yellow roses just because, and taking trips to his favorite places (Home Depot, Dairy Queen, Dunkin' Donuts, Skyline Chili, and Wings N Things) with his loved ones. There are no words that could fully express the profound impact that he had on every life he touched or how immensly he will be missed.
