John Dunham Stockton September 3, 1937 – December 14, 2024 John (Jack) Dunham Stockton of Weston, FL, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on December 14 after a long battle with cancer. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Jack was born on September 3, 1937 in Evanston, IL. He attended Joseph Sears Elementary School in Kenilworth, IL, New Trier High School in Winnetka, IL and Hanover College in Hanover, IN where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and studied broadcast journalism. While in college Jack worked as a disc jockey at WORX in Madison, IN and was known as Jocko, Jack Stockton. Additionally, Jack served in the United State Air Force Reserves. After graduation, Jack had a long career in radio working for several stations in Chicago including WBBM, WAIT, WWMM. WCFL, WYEN, WIND. He served as a disc jockey, talk show host and co-owner over the years. Additionally, Jack was the voice of the Chicago Cougars, WHA hockey team from 1972-1975. In the mid-1980s Jack transitioned his career into a voice-over personality for many years. Jack was known for his sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. He could take any situation and create a room full of laughter. He will forever be remembered for that gift. Jack was a true animal lover. He loved his pets with the same passion as his children. He would say the births of his five children were the most impactful events in his life. Jack is predeceased by his parents Robert and Margaret Stockton and his beloved dogs, Luf, J.J., Dexter, Beamer, Corky, Shelby, Kirby and Coco. He is survived by his two sisters, Margo Shortridge (John) and Tricia Hagenah (Will), his wife of 43 years, Jan Stockton and their two children, Elizabeth Stockton and John Stockton, Jr, his former wife, Barbara May and their three children, Patty Anderson (Jim), Bob Stockton (Christine), Jane Holroyd (Doug). Jack was the proud and loving grandfather of Graham Anderson, Kiera Anderson Rivero (Alex), Laine Anderson, Alex Stockton, Katie Stockton, Neeley Holroyd Lutz (Connor), Maggie Holroyd, Jack Holroyd, Piper Holroyd, Evelyn Torres and Ruby Torres, his three great -grandchildren, Tatum Rivero, Micah Rivero and Cameron Lutz, and his dog Kiko.
