Obituary of Michael Fischetti

Michael Paul Fischetti was born on February 7, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, to his loving parents Michael and Blanche (née Cholewinski) Fischetti. He passed into eternal rest on Sunday, January 3, 2016, in Miami Lakes, Florida, surrounded by his adoring family after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of 55 years to Theresa Dunlop Fischetti, and the devoted father to Michael (widower of Diane Sedley Fischetti), Patrick (Jennifer), Kathy (Frank) Rubio, and Christine (Eric) Tweddle. He was the doting grandfather of Catherine, Michael and Caroline Fischetti; Sara Fischetti; Jacquelyn, Jessalynn, Daniel, Thomas and Frank Rubio; and Andrew, Matthew, and Ryan Tweddle. He was the dear brother of Joyce Fischetti Kriticos. He worked in the insurance and retail industries in New York and Miami, after moving from his birthplace to South Florida in 1976. He was the consummate family man, and is fondly remembered as being extremely devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a "Spirited Debater," a Brooklyn Dodgers fan, and a disappointed Miami Dolphins fan. He rooted for the Miami Hurricanes, Florida State Seminoles and the Florida Gators, as he proudly and enthusiastically supported the universities attended by his grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be at Joseph A. Scarano Stirling Memorial Chapel, 6970 Stirling Road, Hollywood, FL 33024, on Thursday, January 7, 2016, from 2:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-10:00pm. The Funeral Mass will be Friday, January 8, 2016, at 10:00am, at St. David Catholic Church, 3900 South University Drive, Davie, FL 33328.
