Obituary of Peter Pile

Please share a memory of Peter to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Peter George Pile May 10, 1937 - February 13,2016 Peter Life Story Peter George Pile, the only son of Maisie Thomas and Stanley George Pile, was born on Monday, May 10,1937 at the Kingston Victoria Jubilee Hospital, as a healthy baby boy. Peter has a normal childhood growing up, being raised by both parents and attended Saint Georges High School where he excelled at academics and sports (football and cricket) representing the school. At age 14, Peter was forced to quit school and start working to support himself and his Mom Maisie due to the sudden and unfortunate death of his father Stanley George Pile. Peter started excitedly started his new job at Tropical Battery main factory located on Ashenheim Road as a battery technician. At that time, Tropical Battery was the only player in the battery design and build business in Jamaica, and he thrived in his job by being as fast learner and having a big take charge type of guy attitude in the job. Peter worked his way up in the company in several technician roles, until he was promoted to Production Manager. Peter thrived and progressed in this role and remained loyal to the company until he retired with multiple merit awards for battery innovation and design. He was instrumental in the rapid growth of the company in the Jamaican marketplace. After retirement, Peter started a new chapter in his life back in the mid 1980's by migrating to the United States, where he settled in the Sunrise-Lauderhill Florida area. He then proceeded to take the job with the Miami Herald as an Independent Contractor and worked for an additional 20 plus years, until illness forced him to retire permanently. Peter was always a people person with great personality, a great sense of humor and was known for loving and playing his favorite music, cooking great food, as well as entertaining his closest friends. He was always pleasant, effervescent, has a great outlook on life in general. Whenever he met anyone he would always meet and greet as well as accept that person as a friend. He touched everyone he met and would always give that person the benefit of the doubt, and display kindness and gratitude in each relationship with his friends and acquaintances. The most important thing with Peter is you always knew where you stood with him, what was on his mind, whether he was pleased or annoyed. If he was annoyed and challenged, he was known to have a major short fuse that wold ignite, however, once he made his point he was back to normal and would love and adore you as before and things would be back to normal. In his later years, he was stricken with multiple illnesses which slowed him down, but as always he was upbeat and grateful at the chance of living and getting closer to his family and God. Peter is survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In synopsis, Peter Pile was a loving and caring husband, father, son, provider that worked hard all his life at whatever venture he was involved with. During his later years, he would always crave and yearn for the love of his family and especially his children, wishing to have a better, deeper relationship and ability to spend more time with them, as well as having a deep love and appreciation for them that was not always displayed during the early years. Peter also loved his savior Jesus Christ, and that was his strength in fighting the illness that would eventually take his life. If you has the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Peter Pile, you would have enjoyed his charisma, thoughtfulness, lovingness, considerateness, big personality and especially his smile and laugh. Rest in Peace Peter Pile and may God bless and keep you in your new journey and you will always be in our hearts, mind and we will remember and love you always. The Pile Family
