Obituary of Julie Mohamed

Please share a memory of Julie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The Life of Julie Mohamed Julie was born on May 13th, 1947 in the Bronx, NY to her father, Anthony Armellino, and birth mother, Edith Mack. Julie grew up in the Bronx with her Italian Aunts taking care of her while her father worked, until he eventually remarried Grace Moretti; with her daughter Lucille they were now a blended family. Julie was the oldest sister to Lucille, Joseph, Anthony, and Francine from her immediate family as well the three more siblings from her birth mother's side. Growing up in the Bronx with a typical Italian family, there was always big parties and get-togethers like the traditional Italian Christmas Eve parties with lots of food, singing, and dancing as well as a huge family bound which stayed with her throughout her life. She was very smart and educated which continued into her later years with her love for the game show Jeopardy (don't even think about calling her during Jeopardy!). She was extremely talented, very humorous, somewhat of an operatic singer and artist; she even graduated from high school with a certificate for excellence in Art and School services. She attended collage for a little while majoring in interior design, but eventually left to work and help support her family. She had many friends and loved to travel with them and have parties; everyone was considered family and was always invited. She then met the love of her life, Fadel and they were married on October 20th, 1972; a marriage of love that lasted 43 years. They had two beautiful children, Stacey and Lisa and eventually moved from the Bronx down to Florida to be closer to family. Julie had a great sense of tradition and living in Florida, the traditions of New York followed as her parents and siblings were all living here. The traditions continued and Julie was heavily involved in the cooking and coordinating of the events. Even after her father passed away, Julie and her siblings refused to let the traditions die as well as instilling a great sense of family into their children. Julie along with her husband, worked very hard to support their family, she actually would go to work with him every day; she was his partner in just about everything they did. As the years went on, so did the hardship as she was diagnosed with Cancer, not once but twice, as well as many other medical conditions; but through it all she kept fighting to overcome these challenges and beat the Cancer both times. She had many years after that of peace as Julie and her husband we into retirement. She loved to play bingo, card games, and mahjong with her friends as well as travel on cruises. Life was good for her and she was very happy. Eventually the effects of the medical conditionals she had through the years took a toll on her body and she passed away on June 16th, 2016. She did not go without a fight; she was relentless in her pursuit to get better. Even until the very end, she never gave up. She would want to be remembered as a fun loving excellent cook who was strong, kind, giving, caring, and who, no matter what came, fought long and hard. "We will not go silently into the night…." Julie will be missed by so many people, more than words could ever say. Julie was survived by her Husband, Fadel, her two children, Stacey and Lisa, her grandchildren, Alexis and Khalil, and great-grandchildren, Damon and Alyssa.
