DILLEY, Colby Dale
December 31, 1987 – Bedford, TX
September 4, 2023 – Pembroke Pines, FL
Colby Dilley’s passion for the Dallas Cowboys was eclipsed only by his love for family and friends. Loyalty and devotion stand as his defining characteristics, underscored by an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Colby passed in peace September 4, 2023. During this time of intense grief, we find comfort and strength imagining his heartwarming smile, sincere acts of kindness and unbridled enthusiasm.
Colby was someone who wore their heart on their sleeve – in the best way. Straightforward and genuine, he loved fiercely and without hesitation. Growing up he was an admiring son and grandson, protective brother and friend. Texas pride runs deep as did his childhood memories playing on his Nana’s farm, family traditions and football. His zest for life was contagious making any room he entered just a little bit brighter. In some ways Colby said his life truly began when met his wife, Jessica. He cherished his role as a husband and father to Jensen Dale and Peyton Joy. Together, they were building the family both had dreamed of.
The blue and white star he proudly carried said more about him than the team he loved. It was an inspiration and reminder that no matter the outcome, there is never a reason to lose faith or give up. His heart was far larger than any health setbacks he had to conquer. He was a fighter and never allowed his health to define him. Instead, his legacy will live on through his children and in the hearts of those who loved him.
While Colby’s absence is a dark cloud we are struggling to see past, the memories we carry forward is our silver lining. We encourage everyone to attend a celebration of life to be held in his beloved state of Texas in the coming weeks. By sharing stories and supporting one another, we can begin to navigate the difficult path of healing.
